Sometimes it's best to just buy a campaign module and let someone else do the hard work that goes into putting together an intriguing, challenging, adventure. It's a daunting task for a DM to always have a grand adventure waiting for the players. Some groups prefer to kick down every door and ask questions later. Most of the following Dungeons & Dragons campaigns are fairly recent creations, but a couple of them are classics from the earlier days of D&D. The nation is fed by fishing along the verdant coasts and farming in in the interior. ![]() The kingdom's patron deity is Gond Wonderbringer, whose divine influence has led Lantan to becoming the most technologically-advanced nation in Faerun (if not on all of Toril), the home of the printing press (though some allege this was actually stolen from Halruaa), firethrowers, smokepowder, arquebuses, firesticks, armored worms and other inventions. The population is dominated by humans (the Lantanna) but with a large minority of gnomes (mostly rock gnomes). The largest and capital city is Sambar, located on the south coast of Lantan itself, on the Sambar Run that separates Lantan from Suj. It consists of three islands: Lantan proper, Suj and desolate Orlil (in order of size). Lantan is an island nation located between the Trackless Sea and Shining Sea, off the north-western coast of Chult. Even the maps are pretty bare-bones.Īll of the extant, relevant information is collected on the FR Wiki article. I think it's location makes it easy to overlook, not close enough to Calishman/Tethyr/Amn to be included in any of the Empires of the Shining Sea/Lands of Intrigue material, and not really enough like Chult to be included in those sources either. ![]() It certainly doesn't have any major sourcebook or boxed set flushing it out. The campaign sourcebooks do have a little bit on it, and a few locations (such as Gondish religious sites) are fleshed out in Faiths and Avatars, but there's almost no dedicated information on it at all. Lantan is one of the least-fleshed out places in the entire setting.
